Plates Volume 3 : Water
Plates is a food culture magazine that seeks hyperlocal stories with a global relevance.
From the Editor's Note:
Water, an inarguably vast topic, seeps into the most overlooked crevices of our everyday lives. From the water used to produce and clean the electronic chips in our mobile phones to the water used to rinse out the dyes in the manufacturing of our clothes. That being said, it would be impossible to have an entire issue dedicated to water without addressing the climate emergency we are living in today. With the availability of countless and free resources that discuss the climate's impact on our existing, and waning, water source, I would urge you not only to learn from those conversations, but to seek out and to listen to the people whose livelihood depend on nature, like our independent farmers and fishermen, who are often the first ones to be hit.
