Wong Ming Yook taught English Literature in the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur till 2005. She published her first collection of short stories in 2014, titled In the Courtyard of the Sun. The Library of Sighs (2015) was her second collection. She published her third collection of short stories, Ah Lao and the Paper Men in 2016. Ah Lao and the Paper Men was nominated for the Popular - The Star Readers' Choice Awards under fiction in 2017. The Chrysanthemum Lover and Other Tales (2017) is her fourth collection of short stories.
