Apart from the late Tun Abdul Razak, Abdul Kadir was probably the only other eminent Malaysian public official whose personal life was inextricably linked with his career and public life. 


Abdul Kadir's "national service" came during the country's colonial and postcolonial periods. He assumed the role od a trailblazer in charting a new course for the nation, working tirelessly as the trusted confidant of Tun Abdul Razak. 


This biography attempts to document those events that saw Abdul Kadir rise to the occasion to meet the challenges and pave the way for other after him to continue the daunting task of nation-building.
